Renton teen beaten in drug deal | Police blotter

The following information was compiled based on City of Renton police reports.

A drug deal went wrong as four men beat up a Renton teenager on Nov. 2.

The 17-year-old boy was contacted by another boy he knows who wanted to meet up with him so he could buy marijuana and mushrooms from the 17-year-old.

Police found the teen at a trailer in the 300 block of Union Avenue Southeast at about 8:45 p.m. His nose appeared to be broken, his face was bleeding and covered in blood.

The 17-year-old said he walked to the front of the complex to meet his contact and he was jumped by four people armed with a knife, crowbar and a small pistol.

One of the suspects was a white male wearing an Insane Clown Posse Juggalo mask. Two of the other suspects were Hispanic and the fourth was white.

They stole the teen’s marijuana, cell phone and fleece jacket. He was uncooperative with police, did not want to seek medical attention or prosecution of the suspects.

Brawl at Lindbergh

A brawl broke out in a Lindbergh High School classroom on Nov. 4.

A 14-year-old student walked into a class that was in session and attempted to assault another 17-year-old student.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m.

The 14-year-old was apparently provoked by getting word from his girlfriend that the 17-year-old wanted to “have sex” with her.

Several other students intervened to stop the 14-year-old’s punches.

The 17-year-old was cited for breach of peace and the case was forwarded to the King County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.

Daughter assaulted

A mother assaulted her daughter after she revealed her sexuality on Nov. 5.

The 21-year-old daughter told her parents that she is gay and has a girlfriend as they left a business on East Valley Road around 5 p.m.

The 48-year-old mother starting pulling her daughter’s hair once they got into a vehicle and started to drive away.

The mother also began punching her daughter’s head and arms. The father tried to calm the mother and pulled the vehicle over.

When they reached the apartment complex parking lot, the physical assault began again with yelling. The daughter ran into the apartment and locked herself in until police came.

The mother was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence assault.

Renton couple fights

A Renton couple got into a violent altercation on Nov. 2.

Police spoke with the victim a 19-year-old woman in the 600 block of Southwest Fifth Court around 6 p.m.

She was crying and hysterical with a red and swollen left cheek and eye socket. She and her former boyfriend, the suspect, have a child, but the woman was too distraught to provide a statement to police.

A grandmother at the scene told police she witnessed the man strike the woman in the face while the two were arguing.

After a foot chase, the man was apprehended by police.

He was arrested for investigation of fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest and obstructing law enforcement.

Chang’s is burglarized

Chang’s Mongolian Grill was burglarized on Oct. 25.

The alarm at the restaurant, 505 Rainier Ave. N., was tripped at 3:44 a.m.

Police found the front door of the restaurant shattered but intact. Inside the office door window had been shattered as well.

A digital video system revealed two suspects hitting the front door with a large landscaping rock, forcing the door open.

One of the suspects was wearing a camouflaged jacket and the other a black jacket. They can be seen running to the office, breaking the office door window and ransacking the office.

The footage also captures the suspects looking directly at the security camera at different points during the taping.

The only thing that appeared to have been taken were two empty cash bags.
