Two men were arrested last night after allegedly practicing target shooting from their vehicle southeast of Columbia.Deputies responded around 9:50 p.m. to the 4800 block of Ben Williams Road to a report of shots fired in the area, according to a Boone County Sheriff’s Department news release. While searching the area, deputies found a vehicle matching the description the complainant gave.

Two men in the vehicle told deputies they had been target shooting at debris along the roadway, which is illegal. No injuries were reported.

Christopher A. Baker, 22, who provided the Boone County Jail with a “streets of Columbia” address, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon. He remained in the jail this morning with a $500 bond. Chad B. Kocina, 30, of 1517 E. Walnut St., Apt. 102, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon. He remained in the jail this morning on $5,500 bond.

  1. why are you calling that juggalo a scumbag. we’re not even a gang it’s not even like that just because of a few of juggalos do dumb stuff dosn’t mean all of us are bad

  2. So this scumbag , hurt no one, and damaged nothing, got kidnapped, thrown in jail, and is currently being extorted for $5500, even though he likely cannot pay this fine. If someone told you it was wrong to have fun, doing something you loved, while hurting nobody, and then caught you, and taxed you $5000 dollars for it, that is called armed robbery. ON TOP OF THAT HE WAS KIDNAPPED. Really bad example.
