Gathering of the juggalos arrests – shut down before it could begin

The Gathering of the Juggalos, a post-apocalyptic five-day wicked-clown festival we may have told you about once or 379 times, begins tomorrow in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Tomorrow, as in not today. Yet this has not stopped Insane Clown Posse fans from traversing the far ends of the Juggalo universe to find family love more than a day early. Right now, there is currently a very long line of cars backed up along the local road that leads to festival grounds HogRock Campground, full of overzealous clowns waiting for the gates to open.

This is one gridlocked view of the scene, posted around one pm C

“They started jamming traffic up a little after six this morning,” Hardin County Sheriff Joyce Cullison told us this afternoon. The Illinois State Police, who’re providing back-up for the local force for the second year, responded accordingly, patrolling the Cave-In-Rock route, giving out tickets, and making arrests.

“We’ve had 10 or 15 in four or five hours,” says Cullison. Six involved drug charges (“Not a large amount either”), one for unpaid child support. The rest were apprehended for lacking auto insurance, vehicle registration, or driving with a revoked license. No weapons have been found, Cullison notes, “so far.”

“We got one upstairs who might be extradited,” says the Sheriff, referring to the alleged deadbeat dad. Everyone else bonded out. “It’s been a long day. Imagine what tomorrow’s going to be when it opens.”

FIRE WATER AIR AND EARTH – FIRE PITS HOW DO THEY WORK – FIRE BANNED FROM GOTJ 2012

Open campfires banned from The Gathering of the Juggalos due to intense heat. THURSDAY JULY 12, 2012 5:45PM

What level of stupidity does one have to have to not be able to have a camp fire.
Secondly how dumb are they to issue fire warnings for a event planed nearly a month away from the original post ??

Alright Juggalos and Juggalettes. Those of you who are Gathering-bound need to listen up! Apparently Cave-In-Rock, IL and surrounding areas have been under an intense heat-wave as of late. That means that they are taking all precautions necessary to ensure that everybody has a safe week at the Gathering, and that the forest surrounding Hatchet Landings stays in tact. What does that mean for all of us? NO CAMPFIRES. Check the post out from JuggaloGathering.com below: Open campfires banned from The Gathering of the Juggalos due to intense heat THURSDAY JULY 12, 2012 5:45PM The summer weather so far has been an absolute scorcher and it’s only going to get worse as time goes on. Because of this there is currently a ban on campfires at The Gathering of the Juggalos. The lack of rain and intense heat has made the grounds of The Hatchet Landings in Cave-in-Rock, IL very dry and campfires are just asking for trouble. For the safety of everyone in attendance and the grounds themselves, we are asking that no one create any open campfires at The Gathering this year. While this is stale, it’s not the worst thing that could happen. FOREST FIRES are the worst thing can happen. To make the best of this situation you simply have to plan ahead. To light your camping area bring extra electric lanterns, flashlights, and lots of batteries. To stay warm at night if the temperature drops bring extra hoodies, blankets, and warm clothing. And to cook your food you may bring a barbeque, but PLEASE be safe and use caution when cooking! It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a small fire extinguisher or bucket of water nearby just in case! These rules aren’t set in place to give anyone the bone. They are created to look out for you, our family, and our home away from home at Hog Rock. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

When juggalos come to town – asked nicely not to destroy property – destroy and vandalize it anyway WHOOP WHOOP.

>Many business owners in downtown Mount Clemens spent Sunday cleaning up their properties after fans attending an Insane Clown Posse hip hop concert at the Emerald Theatre the night before doused building exteriors with syrupy Faygo soda pop.

Workers were scrubbing walls and spraying windows to remove the soft drink that was deliberately sprayed on stores along North Walnut and Macomb Place.

  • “That’s just great — right before the Stars & Stripes Festival,” said Mount Clemens Mayor Barb Dempsey.
  • The spraying is known in Insane Clown Posse circles as a “Faygo shower,” according to one fan who attended the show.
  • “A Faygo shower is where you take a 2-liter bottle of Faygo, shake it up, remove the cap and let it spray on everyone,” said Ryan Williams of Chesterfield Township.
  • Faygo is the beverage of choice for the ICP duo because it’s cheap and the two members could easily afford it, Williams said. Faygo is also headquartered in Michigan.
  • According to ICP lore, the Detroit-based duo threw an open bottle of Faygo at fans who were making an obscene gesture at a show and the crowd cheered, so the two have continued to spray audiences with the pop. ICP has a hardcore following of loyal fans who refer to themselves as juggalos.
  • Larry Moloney, who along with his wife Cecillia own a number of downtown properties, was out Sunday scrubbing the sticky soda pop from windows and steps of his buildings.
  • “They sprayed everything around here with Faygo red pop,” Moloney said. “They should have to clean up after themselves.”
  • Workers at Madison’s Pub were out picking up trash left behind by the fans. They said some of the “juggalos” had left white and blood-red paint on their walls.
  • Witnesses said fans lining the outside of the building began spraying the stores as they waited to get inside of the show on Saturday night. Someone called the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, but no arrests were made.
  • Williams, who was attending his first ICP show on Saturday night, said someone from the venue came out and asked fans not to harm the neighboring businesses, but many in the crowd ignored the plea. He said someone pulled up in a van containing $80 worth of Faygo and handed out bottles to people.
  • “The guy was telling everyone don’t touch the businesses because it will take a long time to get the pop off,” Williams said. “They asked us nicely.”
  • Mike Mitchell, who runs the Emerald with nightclub impresario Ronnie Masters, said theater personnel personally washed off several of the businesses on Sunday morning. He said security agents warned fans outside the venue to stop causing trouble.
  • “There were cops out in front of the building but I think everyone was aware the kids were just having fun,” Mitchell said. “Honestly, it just got out of hand. We have people out there cleaning the parking lots and the windows of the barbershop next door. We had hoped no one would do that, but they did.”
  • The Emerald reportedly is in severe financial trouble and the city’s Downtown Development Authority has proposed purchasing the building and converting it into a community theater.
  • But in the meantime, local bar and shop owners are not happy with the Emerald operators. They hope to arrange a meeting with the Emerald and city officials to talk about what they say is a chronic problem with the venue.
  • “They’re bringing the city down,” said one bar owner who did not want to be identified. “Neither one of them live in the city, they don’t contribute to the Downtown Development Authority. We just wish they’d both leave.”

Juggalos: Not All Of Us Are Violent – Yet Most Are

REDDING, Calif. — A group of Juggalos tell us they don’t deserve negative attention and that the group actually prides itself on family and belonging.

KRCR News Channel Seven ran a story a few weeks ago about the “Juggalos,” people who follow the band The Insane Clown Posse.

Law enforcement considers them a gang and a recent murder in Redding has been tied to a Juggalo.

The Insane Clown Posse started out as hip-hop duo out of Detroit. Their lyrics are often violent and explicit. Radio stations won’t play their songs and MTV won’t show their videos, but they have developed a large group of very loyal fans. Some of them dress up and paint their faces like the two band leaders.

Our Juggalo story hit the internet and we’ve had people from all over the world e-mailing us, saying not all Juggalos are bad. Many also stressed that not all Juggalos treat the group like a gang.

Joseph Herinck is a Juggalo and Lacy Tomas is a Juggalette.

They tell us they grew up as outcasts until they got their hands on Insane Clown Posse CD’s. That’s what led them to the Juggalo community, where they say they are constantly surrounded by love and acceptance.

They admit that some Juggalos might commit crimes, but say a few bad apples shouldn’t ruin it for the whole bunch.

They tell us, “we are part of this community. We have families, we have jobs, we pay our taxes, we go to work everyday and it’s just kind of prejudice to me to be able to just sit there and say that every Juggalo is the same. People are gonna do what they’re gonna do regardless of what religion or you know, thing they’re a part of. We all might be Juggalos but we still make decisions that aren’t the best, individually.”

They tell us their figure, a hatchet man, symbolizes their Juggalo community. They say just because they have a symbol, doesn’t mean they’re a gang.

Herinck and Tomas tell us they like being Juggalos because it allows them to be around other people who share the same interests and taste in music.

They want to prove to the community that not every Juggalo is about violence. Herinck and Tomas say they even have plans of organizing some community clean-ups.

Lovely how the icp and juggalo media unit work , maybe if juggalos were not commiting murders , attacking people , drawing gang tags and making threats online and offline the police and media would leave them alone.

This site alone gets 2 threats a day from juggalos wanting to meet us and kill us

Juggalowned – Tila Tequila Fan Owns Juggalos

“It’s not right people judge us all based on what a few people did, but it’s completely Tila’s fault that it happened. I mean, did you see how she dressed? She’s a whore! And her music sucks! One of the people on stage committed the Unpardonable Sin of not knowing our group’s jargon! Tila didn’t immediately cave to our abuse and stood up for herself instead of cowering with her tail between her legs! What else could rational people do other than assault her??!”

How sad are the juggalos commenting on this blog? How much can you whine about being misunderstood without seeing the blatant irony? This attack is the clearest possible example of the lack of empathy in this group. You want to be understood? Try understanding others yourselves. It’s shouldn’t be too taxing on your imaginations to figure out that none of you would appreciate being pelted with objects, chased into a trailer, and terrorized while a mob outside tried to break in. Imagine standing in there, waiting for them to come in, and having that time to picture all the horrific things that might happen when they did. I’m sure Tila expected to die that night, I know I would have. But it’s okay to subject another person to something like this because YOU didn’t like her and her music. Your right to listen to a different musical artist is more important than her right not to be harmed. Fantastic.

While your victim blaming and slut shaming are unsurprising, please know these tired excuses are as old as mankind. Those poor, helpless juggalos- they are in no way responsible for their actions! It’s interesting you would defend these people by arguing they are mindless idiots with no impulse control. Then you wonder why this doesn’t endear you to others.

Instead of blaming the world for your problems, try taking a look at your own lives and owning up to your actions. It’s beyond pathetic to blame Tila for the crowd’s actions, as though they are not autonomous individuals capable of higher thinking. Instead of raving about “haters” and being misunderstood, try to understand others. See Tila’s perspective of that terrifying night, for a start. Instead of ranting about hypocrisy in others, try looking at your own hypocrisy. I see nothing “kind, giving, loving” nor do I see anything illustrating “family” in a mob assault on a small group of people. Sorry.

I get that you can’t control every member of your group. I get there are assholes in every group who ruin things for others. But you don’t DEFEND those assholes and rationalize their behavior! The only reason to do that is if you SUPPORT their actions. Given the angry, hateful, vitriol posted by the juggalos here (a few of which laughingly label themselves as nice people), this sort of violence appears to be par for the course in your culture.

This comment thread is truly my first exposure to juggalos and you seem like a terrifying, hateful, angry, violent group. I’m sure this will be completely disregarded and chalked up to “hating” on your group, but it’s my honest impression. Though it appears the opinions of those outside of the group are not valued in the juggalo community.

Speaking of beliefs, it’s certainly your right to believe women should be stoned and attacked for their morals or perceived lack thereof. However, others don’t have to agree with you. Just as you are asking for the right to hold your beliefs, you have to extend that same right to others. Be happy millions of people in other parts of the world agree with you and regularly rape, beat, or stone females to death for having “objectionable” morals. To them, women are not really people and it is society’s job to abuse them until they submit. This seems to be an ideology many of you can get behind. Just don’t expect all of us to accept it.

Honestly, this incident and the juggalo comments here make me very worried for the females involved with this group, some of whom posted in defense of this assault. I sincerely hope members of their “family” never one day decide to attack them for a breach of morals. While society in general supports rape culture and the subjugation of women, most people would be opposed to the assault on Tila. Your group’s defense of it sends a VERY strong and clear message.

The bottom line is this should not have happened. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like Tila, her music, her morals, or any other asinine detail about her. She still did not deserve to be attacked. This is not right. It doesn’t matter whether she was warned or not before taking the stage. (Why did she need to be warned about going in front of such a delightful group of caring individuals who are all about family and understanding in the first place??) No person deserves to be physically assaulted because you don’t like their music.

Don’t like her songs? Too fucking bad. Grow up, be an adult, and ignore her. There was nothing keeping those people at that stage. Instead of throwing a tantrum and abusing her, you could have simply moved on. Again, I’m amazed that so few of these juggalos even considered that option.

The worst, though, is all of those defending the juggalos who did assault her. It’s one thing to be caught up in the moment, in the excitement of a crowd. It’s another thing entirely to look at this scenario objectively, after the fact, and say it was acceptable.
